Plymouth Philharmonic Concert 6 – 2025-2026 webfodder1 April 14, 2025

Old Friends & New

Every great cellist has recorded it. Many believe it’s the greatest cello concerto of all time. The last time we performed it was 2004, so a rendezvous with this magnificent masterpiece—and the fearless cellist Allison Eldredge—is long overdue. We’ll have plenty of time for new introductions, too. Danse nègre is high energy, feel-good music and a perfect concert opener. And, if you like Copland, you’ll love our new friend Coleman. For a Beautiful Land takes us back to the heartland a half century later for a bold, new interpretation of American music.
