Employment Type: Part-Time (24 hours/week)
Position Overview:
The Plymouth Philharmonic Orchestra (the Phil) is seeking a strategic, detail-oriented Grant and Development Coordinator to support and implement key fundraising and grant development initiatives. This part-time position (24 hours per week) focuses primarily on grant writing and administration, identifying new funding sources, including foundation and corporate support, and executing other development-related responsibilities. The Coordinator will work closely with the Executive Director, Marketing Manager, and Director of Development and Audience Engagement to enhance donor relations, increase philanthropic support, and ensure the long-term sustainability of the Phil.
Key Responsibilities:
• Research and identify new grant opportunities, sponsorships, and funding sources aligned with the Phil’s mission.
• Write, edit, and submit grant proposals, reports, and supporting documents.
• Maintain calendar of grant deadlines and ensure timely submissions and reporting.
• Assist in planning and executing the Annual Fund, individual giving, and donor stewardship programs.
• Manage donor records, acknowledgments, and engagement efforts to cultivate and retain supporters.
• Coordinate donor communications, including solicitation letters, impact reports, and digital fundraising campaigns.
• Collaborate with the marketing and development teams to align messaging and branding across fundraising initiatives.
• Maintain and update donor databases and track fundraising progress using CRM Spektrix.
• Assist in managing donor benefits and recognition programs.
• Answer phones when in the office and assist with general inquiries, including selling tickets.
• Provide support for Phil concerts and events, ensuring a welcoming and engaging experience for donors and patrons.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support development and fundraising efforts.
Qualifications:
• Prior experience in fundraising, development, or a related field.
• Demonstrated success in grant writing and donor prospecting.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to build relationships and engage donors effectively.
• Experience with donor databases and CRM software (Spektrix preferred).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Google Suite.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Preferred: experience working in arts administration or with nonprofit organizations.
• Preferred: knowledge of fundraising principles, philanthropic trends, and sponsorship development.
• Passion for the arts and the mission of the Phil.
• Availability to work some evenings and weekends for concerts and special events.

Compensation:
Hourly rate: $22 – $30/hour, commensurate with experience. This is a part-time position at 24
